Who
"Yoga does not know any age" – this conclusion is currently to be heard everywhere and therefore is the theme for our photo production: just have a look at our range of more than 250 pictures...
...our youngest "Yogini" who at the age of 2 and a half is playfully imitating the movements of the instructor (invisible in this picture) (we recommend yoga from the age of 4); our two boys (aged 8 and 10) who are already demonstrating most difficult Asanas with both eagerness and high concentration and are controlling their temparament through a balanced and calm state of mind - yoga helps school children immensly to get to grips with the fear of exams and the ever-growing pressure to perform; yoga helps our teenagers (10, 12, 13, 16, and 18) to develop a good feeling for their body and thus gain self-confidence, to avoid postural deformities or to tackle first back aches and to balance out the ever-present emotional chaos of puberty; their mothers, who accompany this phase of upheaval unperturbed and with strong nerves and who from time to time enjoy a lesson on their own to relax and train their spine. Gentle exercises and breathing techniques accompany our working mums through their pregnancy and ease the physical strain building up to the birth (and also afterwards!). Our career women find a clear head and relief for their aching back and shoulders both during short sessions in their office as well as by attending their yoga classes after work since it makes them feel good, helps to switch off and they are also keeping fit by working on their intrinsic muscles. The same motivation drives our managers (35, 46, and 65): to reduce stress, to find calm and tranquility and to do something for their backs and tummies – in their job as well as in their free time in their yoga class. Our older ladies (50+, 60+, and 70+) also know only too well that yoga makes them feel good and keeps them mobile, they also appreciate the spiritual side of yoga and its nourishment for the soul. For professional as well as keen amateur athletes yoga has got its own appeal - they are "cross"-training: they stretch their muscles, reduce the risk of injury, train the intrinsic muscles via balance and holding, switch between intentional relaxation and concentration, and develop a new breathing range. But no-one impressed us more than our senior couple of 91 and 95: they have been Yogis for over 30 years and showed us during the shoot that amazing things are still possible until old age, if you constantly keep your body and mind stimulated employing care and discipline. They both enchanted us with so much grace, charm, spirit and wit that the thought of them still motivates and inspires us today! Allow yourself to be inspired, too!
